WVTM 13 is highlighting some of Alabama's women who broke barriers by choosing to challenge what was once considered normal.
In this Project CommUNITY: Women Breaking Barriers, WVTM 13's Carla Wade introduces you to Dorthy Brooks, a Vestavia Hills tween who turned her escape from bullying into a championship-winning activity. When she was enrolled in public school, Brooks says she was bullied often. Now, she holds multiple titles as a Country Western Ballroom dancer and travels all around the world competing.
