Stride, Inc. Continues Partnership with PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center for Multi-Year Bullying Prevention Effort

Press Release | Oct 03, 2022

HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Today, Stride Inc., (NYSE: LRN)—the nation’s leading provider of online and blended learning programs—announced its continued partnership with PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center for the 2022-2023 school year. This partnership is designed to help raise awareness of ways to identify, stop, and prevent bullying.

Throughout the current school year, Stride and PACER’s will work together to elevate the voices of students who are impacted by bullying-related issues. Additionally, Stride is sharing several of PACER’s specialized toolkits and resources with 200,000+ enrolled students and families at its K12-powered programs that outline critical ways to recognize and respond to bullying. The company is also updating its online bullying prevention resource hub for its estimated 6 million unique annual website visitors.

“Unfortunately, the pandemic has exacerbated many complex and existing mental health challenges among students and their families,” said James Rhyu, Chief Executive Officer at Stride, Inc. “Students need our help to navigate the challenging times we’re living in. The classroom should be a safe space in which every student gets the support they need.”

As part of their personalized and holistic approach to education, Stride’s K12-powered schools provide wraparound support services for families to help address the challenges that impact students’ ability to perform well in the classroom. In addition—from the safety of home or from anywhere with an Internet connection—every student has access to a rich curriculum taught by state-credentialed teachers.

Stride’s ongoing bullying prevention initiative comes as many schools and mental health professionals across the country seek more ways to help students and families. Eighty-two percent of students between ages 11 and 17 recently showed signs of a mental health condition and nearly one in four adults ages 18 to 44 received mental health treatment last year, according to recent studies. Further, in a survey of parents during the 2021-2022 school year, 35% said they enrolled their students in a K12-powered school because of safety and/or mental health concerns that stem from a previous school.
