HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Stride, Inc. (NYSE: LRN) — the nation’s leading provider of online and blended programs—will reveal the winners of its nationwide photo contest tomorrow.

Stride received more than 1,700 entries from students nationwide, including those who attend Stride K12-powered schools. This year’s competition theme was “My Community,” which asked students in grades K-12 across the country to highlight the question: “What makes your hometown so special?”

Winners will be announced today, November 15 at 5pm EST during a special Facebook Live. Stride CEO James Rhyu will welcome the artists and guests, and internationally renowned professional photographer Jeff Mauritzen will serve as event host.

A panel of professional photographers are serving as judges for this year’s competition: Kimber Capriotti, McKenna Carnahan, Tommy DiGiovanni, Katelyn MacMillan, Erika Fletcher, Sandy Sappington, Rafael Bitanga, and Tony Bennett.

The panel will name two first and second place winners for each grade level – one who attends a Stride K12-powered school, and one from among the national student group. In addition, one grand prize winner will be selected. Winners will receive Amazon gift cards, have their photographs on display at Stride headquarters facilities in Virginia, and featured in Stride-produced curriculum and materials.

“Young people have an amazing eye for photography, and we’re happy to provide a place they can showcase their perspective and talent,” said Karen Ghidotti, Senior Vice President for Customer Experience and Advocacy at Stride. “Enrichment programs like this photography competition give students a chance to set themselves apart and give them an opportunity to be recognized for all their hard work.”

Stride is committed to offering enrichment opportunities for students of all ages to learn outside the classroom and workplace. Stride’s K12 enrichment programs help ignite student interests and encourage them to learn new skills, support students in building a portfolio of creative work, and help them foster long-lasting friendships and professional connections.

New Stride enrichment programs launch every year, and the Spring 2022 application portal will be opening soon. The Fall 2021 semester includes a range of topics including drone flight instruction, entrepreneurship, coding and app development, and playwriting.
