Kate Hushion, a Columbia Teachers College graduate, founded ArtCart nine years ago to address the lack of elementary art education in her community. Through this mobile program, she brings creative opportunities to children across West Virginia, including students from West Virginia Virtual Academy, who can now access hands-on art experiences. Inspired by her time as a Wood County art teacher, Hushion’s initiative aims to fill the gap in schools lacking art programs, helping students unlock their artistic potential.
