At just 15-years-old, Rozlyn Herren has competed around the world for rodeo and most recently in Texas for the Junior American Rodeo Finals.
“Just a couple weeks ago I got back from Fort Worth, Texas, and I was in the girls goat tying 15 hundred as well as the 19 hundred, and I was able to be 5th in the average in a jack pot there and I was 7th high call back, so it was pretty interesting,” said Herren. “I see myself going far in rodeo and I am really hoping to make high school nationals this summer.”
Herren started rodeo at a very young age as she got inspired from her parents doing it. She now attends a fully public online school, Wyoming Virtual Academy, so her career doesn’t interfere with her education. She says she practices every single day at least four hours a day.
“Rodeo has so much competition and it seems like every rodeo is different so I just really just love it, I want to get better, and keep pursing my dreams, and hopefully I can step up my game every rodeo.”
When the time comes, Herren plans to continue her rodeo career at college.
