3 Work From Home Options For Teenagers

Perspectives | Aug 25, 2020 | Avery

In the world of COVID-19, there's no doubt that working from home is the new normal. However, most traditional high school jobs don't lend themselves well to a virtual format. I mean, I'd like to see someone try to waitress or lifeguard over Zoom!

So, what are we teenagers supposed to do when in-person jobs are becoming more and more dangerous, and traditional virtual internships are becoming harder and harder to find? Well, here are a few creative work-from-home options for teenagers that you may not have thought about:

1. Audiobook Narration

Do you have a soothing voice? Do you like to read? Then you should audition to record audiobooks. This job has super flexible hours, and you can continue to collect royalties after you finish working!

2. Transcription

How great would it be to get paid to simply listen and then type what you hear? That's exactly what transcription is! All you need are headphones and a laptop to work for a transcription service and earn money.

3. Taking Surveys

Surprisingly enough, you can get paid to take surveys using sites like Survey Junkie or Swagbucks. You may only make a few dollars for each survey, but if you dedicate enough time to taking them, you can make a big chunk of change!

These are a few of my favorites, but if you look hard enough, there are tons of other work-from-home jobs that exist for teens. Right now, as we live in a world that is anything but ordinary, it is more important than ever to find creative ways to make money. Perhaps, one day, recording audiobooks will be just as commonplace as babysitting or mowing lawns!
