While certifications and degrees do not always play the same roles in information technology (IT) as they might in some other professional fields, there are still a sizable amount of jobs in information technology that require them. There are even more jobs within IT that candidates become better positioned for with certifications, to demonstrate their knowledge base. As you can see, over a quarter of the jobs in the information technology field require a professional certification of some sort, for those with less than a Bachelor’s degree. These can include certifications for roles in design, user testing, security, user experience, project management, cloud computing, and programming. The IT industry is constantly growing and changing, with new advances and areas of special interest being developed all of the time. It is a terrific field for those who like to feel as though they are on the cutting edge of new and exciting advancements.
