How To Find College Scholarships

Perspectives | Aug 25, 2020 | Avery

With the price of college skyrocketing, scholarships are becoming an essential part of making teenagers’ college dreams a reality. However, finding scholarships can feel overwhelming. If you’re on the hunt for scholarships, here are five of the best websites to start your search.

1. Tallo

While you may know Tallo as a great platform to promote yourself to potential employers and colleges, you may not know that it is also a great way to find scholarships. Making a Tallo profile will give you access to a variety of scholarship options. On Tallo, you can also link your profile with RedKite, a scholarship-matching engine that connects students to over 20 billion dollars in scholarships.

2. Career One Stop

Career One Stop is a free scholarship search engine created by the U.S. Labor Department. It allows you to easily sort by deadline, so it’s a convenient way to make sure that you don’t miss any opportunities.

3. Big Future Scholarship Finder by the College Board

Beyond just administering the SAT, the College Board offers other college-related services, including helping to connect students with scholarships. Big Future Scholarship Finder is a great search engine that will match you with tons of different scholarships.

4. Niche

While you may have looked at Niche’s college rankings, you may not have known about their scholarship search. I like Niche a lot because it gives you the option to both sift through all of their offerings as well as to create an account and be matched with scholarships!

5. Peterson's

Peterson’s is another great scholarship search engine that can help to connect you to over 10 billion dollars in aid. They can also provide you with advice on finding the right college and preparing for standardized tests, so it’s a great resource for the entire college process!

With these options, you should be able to find hundreds of scholarships for which you are eligible. Apply to as many as you can and get ready for a great college experience!
