Internships for High School Students

Internships are an excellent way to gain work experience in high school. However, as a high schooler, it can be difficult to find positions, as many internship positions are aimed at older students or college graduates. If you're looking to find an internship as a teenager, here are a few great places to start your search.

1. Tallo

Tallo is a relatively new platform that matches you with a wide range of internship or apprenticeship opportunities. Tallo is excellent because the entire platform is for high schoolers, making it incredibly easy to find opportunities specifically for your age group. With its user-friendly experience and wide range of postings, Tallo is sure to help you find opportunities.

2. Internships.com

Internships.com is a subset of Chegg.com, a website that offers tutoring, test prep, and other student-focused content. As the name suggests, the site will allow you to search for thousands of internship opportunities, filtering by location, compensation, and various other factors. While you may have to weed through options aimed at college students, there are still several opportunities for high schoolers.

3. Career Boards

Most company's websites have a job board on which they post new opportunities. If you are interested in working with a specific company, be sure to check their career page often in case they have a new internship posted.

4. Email

Although it may be nerve-racking, reaching out to a company directly to see if they would be willing to onboard you as an intern is another great strategy. While you may not get a response to every email you send, some companies will be impressed by your initiative and give you a chance.

5. School officials

Adults are your school are another great resource for finding internships. Whether it be a guidance counselor or career counselor, many of the adults at your school will be privy to internship opportunities in your area.
