Three Career Fields Students Can Explore through Enrichment Programs

Perspectives | Jan 07, 2022
Share

With the ever-present pandemic causing parents and students to rethink their education on a daily basis, giving students the opportunity to explore their career interests in high school is more important than ever.

Stride, Inc. invites students nationwide to explore their future, enhance their resume, and build skills in tech, entrepreneurship, or creative arts to take part in one of Stride’s 2022 Enrichment Programs. Students do not need to be enrolled in a Stride-powered school to participate in these leading-edge programs as they explore the following career fields:

Technology:

Video Game Design and Mobile App Development are built for the student with no coding experience where they can learn to build their own app or video game.

If Robotics or Virtual Reality Development is your student’s niche, they can learn the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the tech world while gaining skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, computational thinking, and problem-solving.

DARTdrones, the nation’s leader in drone training, helps students in the Drone Flight and Certification program learn how to fly a drone, from basic training to aerial mapping and photography, and even becoming an FAA Certified Commercial Drone Pilot!

Entrepreneurship

Does your student have a burning business idea? Youth With Impact business instructors help students turn passions into plans while learning critical skills for the workplace in Find Your Entrepreneur Hustle. They will learn fundamental business tools and concepts, including understanding competitors, marketing ideas, building advisory boards, and much more. Past participants report significant improvements in confidence, public speaking, tech skills, and financial literacy. Students will graduate with a business plan, a venture pitch, and a sample of their idea—powerful items for resumes, college applications, and job pursuits.

Creative Arts

In a competitive career field driven by portfolios, students need a head start to set themselves apart. The Comic Illustration program is designed for artists of all levels to bring stories to life and produce a fully self-designed comic.

Students can learn about the original “influencers” as they examine garments and 'looks' for trend-setting elements in Fashion Design. Students progressively develop the eye and skill to sketch through a creative journaling process, culminating in an original design project based on historical elements.

For students thinking about making their own film, Script Writing provides an introduction to the exciting process of writing for the screen, as they develop original ideas into a complete short screenplay.

These enrichment programs offer students the opportunity to ramp up their resume and build useful skills is a beneficial and cost-effective way. Explore Stride Enrichment Program opportunities, and check out what they have to offer adult learners as well.
