Shannon: North Carolina Virtual Academy offer accommodation for parents like me who actually own businesses. We own a decorating business. Also, we have a seasonal wreath business, which is kind of, like, a hybrid of the decorating business. And so we pretty much decorate for all different small local businesses that are in the area, but we offer seasonal wreath options throughout the year.

Naomi, she does my administrative work sometimes, and what I mean by that, she actually prints out my shipping labels when we're fulfilling orders. So North Carolina Virtual Academy pretty much allows that. North Carolina Virtual Academy offers various hours, and so there's not a designated time frame where you can go, other than like the class connects. But everything else can be done at any time.

Naomi: I make like some of her wreaths and stuff and I get to make new things and to enter a market and I get like the profit for it, so I like that. We do stuff with each other like go out and get supplies.

I have a dog walking business. I started when I was like, I want to buy a keyboard. I was like, I feel like I would love to play the piano, and I was like you know what, I'm going to have to start saving up. So I had like a lot of money I had already saved up, and I was like you know what, it would be . . . I was reading this book, and this guy, he'd started like this dog walking business. And he was . . . It was like, you know,  that's actually a really good idea, so I decided I was like, I'm going to do this.

And I was expecting mom to say no. to say no. I was like, "You're going to say no," but she was like, "Yeah, sure. What are you going to call it?" I was like, 10 bucks a pup because there's only like $10. There's $2 to walk your dog like every day, and it's pretty fun. And then since yesterday, I have two dogs now. I walk one for free and then I walk the other one for $10 a week. That's really fun and I'm hoping to get more over the summer. I'm excited to see where this goes.
