What Does A Job Search Look Like For Teens?

Career Quizzes Can Help Teens Have A More Successful Job Search

If you are a teenager, you may be anxious about applying for jobs and internships, especially while you are still in high school. It can be difficult to know what to expect, and what job searches look like today can vary widely depending on the professional field. And, with the world moving at an ever-increasing pace, it can be even more daunting, as you begin your career journey. Created as an aid to assist high school students in finding the best job and/or internship for themselves, career quizzes help teens to assess their strengths, interests, skills, and values.

When you start trying to find your first job or internship, your parents might say something like… “Just go out there and apply. That’s what I did.” Advice like this is certainly well-meaning. And, in some instances it may work out. But, let’s face it… this isn’t your parents’ job market.

The truth is, competing for an entry-level job today is more challenging, on average, than it was 30 years ago. Plus, as a teenager with limited work experience, it can be even more difficult to find opportunities that are both a good match for you and a great career starting point. If you want to be taken seriously, you need to be sure that you’re on the top of your job-search game.
