A: Teachers lead live online Class Connect sessions, which are integral to the online school program. You’ll lead classes and connect with students through K12’s Online Learning System (OLS), where students enjoy a world-class curriculum and consistent academic guidance to support their unique learning needs. Teachers may also offer additional ways to communicate, like phone calls, email, and office hours.
A: All K12 positions are fully remote, meaning you can work from home or wherever you have an internet connection, though teachers’ location requirements may vary by school or state. K12 provides employees with the technology they need to get online and communicate with their students and Learning Coaches, as well as their colleagues and administrators.
A: Understanding the student support structure is key to your success as a teacher. Students at K12-powered schools follow a structured online learning schedule similar to a traditional school day. They log in regularly, complete lessons and assignments, and attend your live Class Connect sessions.
Each student also has a Learning Coach (typically a parent or guardian) who supports their daily learning. Learning Coaches help provide oversight and assistance where needed, including helping students stay on track. As a teacher, you’ll partner closely with families, using email, phone calls, and office hours to support student achievement.
